Agnes Marie Sebesta, 84, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away on October 3, 2026. She was born on September 2, 1942, in Sugar Land, Texas, to the late Tom and Julia Vitek.
Agnes attended Wharton County Junior College before continuing her education at Lamar University, where she earned a degree in education. In 1965, she married James Sebesta, and they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. She taught first grade for three years while supporting her husband through dental school. They lived in El Campo, Texas, for 42 years before retiring to Bella Vista, Arkansas, in 2012.
Agnes enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, cooking, baking, shopping, and antiquing. She was also actively involved in many church activities. She loved watching college sports, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks and all the Texas teams. Above all, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her faith in Christ was at the center of her life, and she loved sharing the love of Jesus with everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Julia Vitek; her sisters, Naomi Holtkamp and Betty Jane Vitek; her brother-in-law, Ed Holtkamp; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Agnes is survived by her loving husband, Dr. James Sebesta, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; her son, Brian James Sebesta, and his wife, Stacey Sebesta, of New Braunfels, Texas; her daughter, Leesa Kay Morrison, and her husband, Brian Morrison, of Springdale, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Julia Morrison of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Dennis Morrison of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and her step-grandchildren, McKinzey McCabe of New Braunfels, Texas, and Connor McCabe of Fort Worth, Texas.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at NewLife Christian Church in Gravette, Arkansas.
