Arlene C. Alford, 91, of Bella Vista, AR, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025. Carolyn Arlene Schmidt was born on October 20, 1933, in Los Angeles, CA, but always went by Arlene.

Arlene married Henry Christopher Bergman (Chris) in her senior year of high school and soon became a mother to Daniel, Debbie and Mark.  She lived in Glendora, CA until the children were older and then went to Citrus College for accounting and cosmetology. Arlene worked as a hair stylist until her divorce.  She then moved to Burbank, CA and got a job at Teller Metal Company, eventually meeting Frank Smith.  They married in 1975.  Arlene became a stepmother to Debbie, Scott and Bill.

Arlene loved travel and golf, even getting a hole in one.  In 1996 Arlene and Frank moved to Bella Vista, AR.  Frank Smith died suddenly after 2 years in Bella Vista.

In 1999 Arlene married Rod Alford and became a stepmother to Mike and Diane.  Rod and Arlene lived in Bella Vista until Arlene's death.  She was very involved with the First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, Bella Vista Women's Golf Clubs and P.E.O. Chapter BR. Arlene was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, too many to name, with another one on the way.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72715.
