Barbara A. Hedstrom, age 84, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away after a brief illness on January 20 ^th , 2023, in Bentonville Arkansas. She was born Barbara Ann Klein in Brooklyn, New York on December 5 ^th , 1938, to Rose P. and Charles F. Klein.

Barbara moved to Smithtown, New York in 1960 and raised two sons with her husband, Nils Erik Hedstrom, giving piano lessons and learning to be a certified court reporter. After moving to Bella Vista in 1982, Barbara began a freelance court reporting business and eventually worked at the courthouse in Bentonville where she retired in 2009.  Barbara was an avid reader and was active in service at the United Methodist Church in Bentonville and most recently at the Bella Vista Community Church where she served as a Stephen Minister.  Barbara continued to play the piano throughout her life and also enjoyed Bible study. Her faith and trust in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is part of her legacy that was passed on to her children and grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Balke and her husband, Nils Erik Hedstrom.

She is survived by her niece, Debora Lindner of Hicksville, New York; son, Erik Charles Hedstrom and daughter-in-law, Charmaine Hedstrom of Groveton, Texas; her son, Matthew Peter Hedstrom and daughter-in-law, Deena Hedstrom of Bentonville Arkansas.  Barbara was also blessed with nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who loved their "Gaga".

The family will have a private funeral service at Bella Vista Funeral Home officiated by her grandson, Tanner Hedstrom from Lawrence, Kansas. Following the private service, there will be a graveside service at 1:00 pm at the Bella Vista Memorial Garden Cemetery, 34 Buckstone Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72715. The graveside service is open to all who would like to pay their respects.
