Bella Vista
Barbara Tropansky, 89, of Bella Vista died November 4, 2025. She was born March 2, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri to Thomas Dwight and Dorothy (Sanders) Davis.
She graduated from Raytown High School, Raytown, Missouri in 1954 and
Maryville College, Maryville, Tennessee in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. It was at Maryville College that she met Joe Tropansky. In their senior year, he was selected Man of the Year, and she was selected Woman of the Year. They were married on August 20, 1960, at Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Missouri. During Joe's ministry, they lived in a variety of states, mostly in the Midwest.
She and her husband, Joe, moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas to retire in 2001 from Gothenburg, Nebraska. She is a member of the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista where she served on the Session for three years and moderated the mission committee. She was an active member of Presbyterian Women and served on the coordinating team in Central Nebraska Presbytery and in Arkansas Presbytery in 2002-2004. She was a P.E.O. member of Chapter CD.
Her business positions included working as secretary, newspaper office, camp registrar, library, and office manager in the Community Development Office in Gothenburg, Nebraska before retirement in 1999.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David and his wife, Danette.
Survivors include her husband, Joe of Bella Vista; son, Mark and his wife, Robin; grandchildren, Davis and Anna of LaCygne, Kansas; her brother, Tom Davis of Hardin, Montana.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bella Vista Presbyterian Church with Rev. Judy McMillan officiating. A private burial will be at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715 or Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
