Betty June Edge, of Gravette, AR, passed away on March 4, 2024. She was born on June 30, 1927, in Stitzer, WI to John and Delphia (Budack) Novinski. Betty has 12 siblings.
She was united in marriage to George H. Edge September 22, 1950, in Lancaster, Wisconsin. George died September 5, 2014 (just short of 64 years of marriage).
Betty and George farmed for many years on a 537 acre farm in Lancaster, Wisconsin. They raised beef cattle and hogs, and milked cows. Betty helped on the farm, milked cows, helped with all the crops, and tended to a large garden. She would can produce, make jelly, bake awesome food, and made the best homemade pickles. Betty volunteered at a thrift shop two days a week after they retired from the farm. She also helped at the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, where she was a member, serving food at funerals and special events. Betty baked a lot of great pies for the church.
When she was younger, she sang duets with her sister, Gladys – they even sang on the radio.
Betty moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2018 to live with her last remaining child Debra Raymond and her husband, Garry Raymond. She quickly made friends at the Bella Vista Lutheran Church and all the members of the Pig Trail HOG (Harley Owners Group) Chapter. She loved riding on the back of Garry's Harley motorcycle. She was adored by the two dogs (Stormy and Harley), especially since she was adept at sneaking them treats under the table. Betty loved to play cards with her many friends, and she sincerely cherished her beloved family.
She was preceded in death by husband, George Edge; parents, Delphia and John Novinski; sons, Roger and Darrell Edge; daughter, Dianne Rice; sisters, Marie Stich, Arlene "Sue" Lyght, Gladys Hardy, and Rosemary Novinski; and brothers, (all Novinski) John, Tom, Edwin, Richard, William, Jerry and Robert.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Debra (Garry) Raymond; one sister, Judy Rapp; son-in-law, Charles Rice and his friend, Janis Eklund; two daughters-in-law, Rhonda Kitlinger and Jackie Edge; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715.
