Obituary

Bobby Ken Goodwin, 63, of Decatur, AR passed peacefully into the Gates of Heaven on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.  Ken was born to Glen and Jeannie Goodwin in Welch, OK.  When Ken was 3 years old, his family moved to Decatur, AR.  Ken graduated from Decatur High School and resided in Decatur for most of his life.

Although he began his career working at Gates Rubber Company, Ken was self-employed for over 20 years. In the last 4 years, Ken worked at ACRS in Oklahoma – a job he truly enjoyed.  Ken was a people person and loved all the different people this job allowed him to meet and work with.

Ken had various hobbies throughout his life.  He loved 'coon hunting with his dog Flop  when he was younger, riding & roping horses and working on the farm.  His love of cars probably started with his drag racing in high school, but he always loved working on anything with an engine and could fix anything.  A skill that came in handy many times on the farm.  He always enjoyed being on the water – whether that was fishing, boating, skiing or wakeboarding – he loved it all.  But maybe his favorite hobby was watching John Wayne movies on a lazy Sunday afternoon with his girls.

Ken's family meant so much to him.  Despite a somewhat disastrous first date, Ken was married to Nancy, the love of his life for 43 years. Together they had 4 daughters – the ultimate Girl Dad way before it was a trend.  Ken was the strong pillar of his family and the first to lend a helping hand to his family and friends.

Ken is survived in death by his wife, Nancy, four daughters, Tawny, Krystle (Juan), Skyler, & Chelsea (Quintin), his 9 grandchildren (Alex, Lorellei, Couri, Myles, Gemma, Lyla, Theo, Kensington & Briella), his mother Jeannie and his brother, Darren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Glen Goodwin.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Bella Vista Funeral Home at 2:00pm. Because of Ken & Nancy's strongly held belief in continuing to grow & learn, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of NWA in Ken's name. Arrangements are with Bella Vista Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.funeralmation.com
