Bonnie Mae Whiting, 81, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, answered His call on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Innisfree Senior Living in Rogers, Arkansas. She was born on November 7, 1941, in Madison, WI to Katherine and Allyn Vitense. Bonnie was raised by her mother, Katherine Vitense (Helleckson), and her stepfather, Burnette Helleckson.

She worked as an English teacher for the Milwaukee Public School System in Wisconsin and, along with her Bob, owned and operated a fishing resort in Wisconsin before moving to Bella Vista in 2000. Bonnie was active in the Bella Vista Lutheran Church, where she worked at the food pantry. She had a passion for her cats, shopping at craft fairs and estate sales, and playing cards and games with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Whiting; brother, Bob Vitense; sister, Kay Rae Vitense, and her parents.

Bonnie is survived by one daughter, Ann Tyler (Randy) of Bella Vista, AR; two sons, Ted Whiting (Marelia) of Las Vegas, NV and David Whiting (Annabelle) of Last Vegas, NV; two brothers, Dwayne Helleckson of Apache Junction, AZ and Randy Helleckson of Wisconsin Dells, WI; two sisters, Diane Zopfi of Dane, WI and Judy Mayfield of Lodi, WI; in-laws, Ralph & Eunice Whiting of LaCrosse, WI; Robert and Linda Przybylski of Cordova, TN; Connie Vitense of DeForest, WI; four grandchildren, Adam Tyler (Sarah), Matthew Tyler (Stacy), Katie Holmlund (Tristian), and Zetta Whiting; one great grandson, Carsen Holmlund; one great granddaughter, Thea Holmlund; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter, 32 Bella Vista Way, Bella Vista, AR 72714.
