Brenda Kay
Elzey
Jul 5, 1959 — Apr 12, 2023
Gravette
Brenda Kay Elzey, 63, of Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away April 12, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 5, 1959, in North Kansas City, Missouri to Elbridge and Merle Acord (Dinsmore).
On February 10, 1979, Brenda gave birth to a son, Travis Acord. Brenda met Todd in Bentonville, Arkansas, in 1985 while working at Walmart Warehouse 4. The two immediately hit it off and shared a love of the outdoors, music, and the simple life. Brenda and Todd were married at Laverne's Wedding Chapel in Miami, Oklahoma on June 27, 1986.
The couple welcomed their daughters Kayla in 1988 and Kelli in 1994. Brenda loved spending time with their girls, celebrating holidays and making sure no detail was left undone when it came to school parties and life celebrations.
As the girls got older, it was common for friends and family to spend nights and weekends at the Elzey farm swimming, fishing, and camping. Brenda was the ultimate hostess and made sure that everyone was taken care of.
As much as she enjoyed spending time with her kids, she loved her grandkids even more. Brenda retired from Walmart after 34 years in 2018 to spend time with her first grandson Elzey. Eventually, two more grandsons (Ezra and TJ) joined the crew, and she spent her days playing outside, swinging, and visiting parks.
Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Elbridge Acord and father-in-law Jim Elzey.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 37 years, Todd; son, Travis; granddaughter, Kylee; daughter, Kayla (Nick) Meadows; daughter, Kelli; four grandsons, Elzey, Ezra, TJ and Enzo; sisters, Sonja McCoy and Arzella (Calvin) Couture; brother Mark (Leigh) Acord; mother, Merle Acord (Dinsmore); mother-in-law, Betty Elzey; and countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715.
