CMS Brian C Self USAF (Ret.), 64, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, (formerly of Moorhead, Minnesota,) passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, at his home surrounded by family.

Brian was born to Shirley I. Klevgaard and Orin K. Self at Altus AFB in Oklahoma on October 03, 1956. He attended schools in France, Wisconsin, North Dakota and Minnesota due to his father's service in the Air Force. Brian graduated from Moorhead High School in 1974.

Brian joined the North Dakota Air National Guard in 1978, with the goal of utilizing the tuition reimbursement program to attend college. On April 19, 1980, he married Jeanine M. Clark at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead, Minnesota. Brian and Jeanine have two sons, Jason and Patrick. Plans for college were put on hold, so he started a full-time position as a technician with the Happy Hooligans to support his family.

Brian's passions included fishing at White Earth or Pelican Lake,  scuba diving wherever he could, golfing whenever he could, woodworking, crossword puzzles and riding on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by both parents, Orin and Shirley; both sets of grandparents, Orval and Edith Self of Ada, Minnesota, and George and Signora Klevgaard of Felton, Minnesota, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is survived by his wife Jeanine; two sons, Jason Self of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Dr. Patrick Self (Caroline Muzic) of La Crosse, Wisconsin; his sisters, Brenda Andrews (Joe) and Kim Moravec, both of Bella Vista, Arkansas; his aunts, Brenda (Arlen) Cummings of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and Kay (Ed) Stevens of Pace, Florida, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, Air Guard family and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 11:00 a.m., to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Fargo Air Museum in Fargo, North Dakota.
