Carolyn Ann
Satterlee
Nov 11, 1941 — Jul 24, 2026
Bentonville
Carolyn Ann Satterlee, 84, of Bentonville, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, at her daughter's home, surrounded by the love of her family, following a brave battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
Born Carolyn Ann Phillips on Nov. 11, 1941, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, she grew up with a deep devotion to family and community. On Nov. 9, 1963, she married Marcy Rex Satterlee, beginning a life filled with humor, dedication and a growing family that became her greatest joy.
Carolyn was a hard worker throughout her life, known for her professional, friendly disposition. Her professional career included bookkeeping for Ideal Supply and rolling screens and building muttons for Pella Windows. She spent many years helping families as a dedicated real estate agent and later served as a security guard at Prairie Meadows Casino and Racetrack before enjoying a well-earned retirement.
Above all, Carolyn loved living in her cozy Bentonville home and spent her days enjoying life's sweet, simple pleasures. She was a gifted gardener who possessed a true green thumb and could make anything grow. She loved watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, reading, playing Bejeweled Blitz with her sister, Tess, and sitting on her front porch each morning to greet her neighbors, often remarking on how kind everyone in her community was. Carolyn had a profound love for animals, especially birds, and frequently opened her home and heart as a gentle caretaker to wayward souls, hating to ever see any creature suffer.
Her love of her family was boundless, and her spirit was joyous. Carolyn possessed an infectious laugh—the kind that would quickly start a chain reaction, leaving everyone nearby laughing right along with her. She never met a baby who didn't find her amusing.
She was preceded in death by her caring husband, Marcy Rex Satterlee; her parents, William (Bill) and Doris Phillips; and her sister, Marilyn Phillips Funero and brother in law, Jack (Pat) Kensler.
She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Adam) Slutsky of Bentonville, AR; her son, Brian (Chris) Satterlee of San Tan Valley, AZ; and her cherished grandchildren: David Slutsky of Mountainburg, AR, Jacob (Daniel Perea) Slutsky of Bentonville, AR, Steven (Ashley) Satterlee of Glendale Heights, IL, Jeffery (Bee) Satterlee of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Chelsey (Steve) Wallace of Hendersonville, TN. Carolyn was a proud great-grandmother to Owen, Everette, Clark, Addison, and soon to arrive, Amelia. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters: Patricia Kensler of Glendale, AZ, Theresa "Tess" (Don) McCulley of Sergeants Bluff, IA, and Emily (Gary) Hart of Martensdale, IA, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for friends and neighbors will be held at the home of Jill and Adam in Bentonville. A private memorial service for family will be held in Arizona at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carolyn's honor to Circle of Life Hospice Care in Springdale, AR.
