Catrina Dawn Smith, age 43, of Gravette, Arkansas died Tuesday January 14, 2025, in Gravette. She was born May 25, 1982, in West Plains, Missouri to Larry D Bales and Velma L Grandstaff.
She was a mother, wife, homeworker, and a previous employee of Teasley Drug in Gravette. She was a member of the Berean Ministries church in Gravette where she volunteered and helped with the children's program. Catrina helped with Bible classes for elementary students, volunteered at Bethel Cemetery, and was an active member of Kiwanis in Gravette. She was deeply loved by her community, her church, and her family. She loved and saw beauty in the tiniest details of God's creation. She was an artist and had the most tender and gentle heart.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry D Bales; grandmother, Ruth Martin; grandmother, Louise Grandstaff; grandfather, Buck Grandstaff; and niece, Whitley Bales.
She is survived by her husband, JD Smith of Gravette; son, Logan Smith of Gravette; mother, Velma Grandstaff of Winona, Missouri, one sister, Sabrina Reese and husband Mike Reese of Mountain View, Missouri; one brother, Chris Bales and wife Misty of Birch Tree, Missouri; mother and father-in law, Gary and Kathy Smith of Bella Vista; sister and brother-in-law, Jana and Tom Chilton of Gravette; eight nieces and nephews: Abigail of Fayetteville, Noah and Amber of Mountain View, Hunter of Winona, and Kaylan, Laney, Allie, and Jaci of Gravette; five great nieces and nephews: Mavis, Iris, Alice, Olivia, and Wesley; aunts and uncles: Barb Cowen and husband, Kenny, Teresa Grandstaff, Richard and Nikki Grandstaff, John Howard Grandstaff; and many cousins.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Berean Ministries, 301 Birmingham St SE, Gravette, AR 72736, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Gravette directly after the service.
Serving as pallbearers are Tom Chilton, Mike Reese, Michael Duke, Les Riddle, Chris Bales, and Noah Reese.
Family requests that flowers or memorial contributions be made to Berean Ministries.
