Obituary

Clifford Lee McPherson, 85, of Sulphur Springs, AR, went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 28, 2024. He entered this life on May 17, 1939, in Phoenix, AZ, as the oldest of two boys born to the late Truman Mack and Ramona Violet (Martin) McPherson.

He graduated in Payson, AZ in 1952 and went to college at Arizona State for a year.

On September 6, 1958, he married Wanda Fay Damron in Payson, AZ. They lived in Arizona where he worked for the National Forest Service, fighting forest fires and then worked for the Bureau of Public Roads where they moved 39 times working for the government. They finally settled in Kingman, AZ where he worked for Ford Motor Company, proving grounds where he tested new cars before available to buy. He and Wanda had three kids, Debra, Troy, and Rhonda. In 1977 they moved to Sulphur Springs, AR to be closer to their family. Cliff worked for Jarvis Brothers Construction. He enjoyed reading westerns, hunting, and farming.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Ramona McPherson; brother, John Thomas McPherson; daughter, Debra Lynn Marvin; and grandson, Ty Riley Marvin.

Cliff is survived by his wife of 66 years, Wanda Fay McPherson; son, Troy Lee McPherson and wife, Susan of Gravette, AR; daughter, Rhonda Kay Jarvis and husband, Jimmy of Hiwasse, AR; six grandchildren, Derek Marvin, Ashlee Marvin, Randy Bryson, Jeris Jarvis, Tim McPherson, and Anthony McPherson; and great grandchildren, Hailey and Hannah Bryson, Shyanne Marvin, Ryder and Tomi Lynn Shaw, Berkley and Braylee Jarvis, Emitt McPherson, and Brayden Orozco.

A memorial service will be held at Hiwasse Christian Church, 13754 Firehouse Lane, Hiwasse, AR 72739 on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Larry Weihe officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Troy McPherson, Jimmy Jarvis, Randy Bryson, Derek Marvin, Jeris Jarvis, Jake Damron.

Flower deliveries can be made to the Bella Vista Funeral Home on Friday January 3, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
