Clyde Henry Mader of Bella Vista, AR, 88, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Highlands Nursing Home in Bella Vista, AR.  A funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bella Vista, AR on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.  Greetings begin at 9:00am, Rosary at 9:30, and Mass at 10:00 am.  A Mass will also be held in Clyde's hometown of Garnett, KS on October 16, 2021 at Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Clyde was born November 29, 1932 on a farm west of Garnett KS.  He was the oldest of 7 children of Mark and Kathryn Mader. He attended Centennial Country Grade School, Garnett High School, class of 1950, and graduated from Allen County Community College in 1955.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War as a member of the 2nd Infantry Division, 38th Infantry Regiment, 1951-1953. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW and the 2nd Infantry Division Association

On December 11, 1954, he was united in marriage with Sandra Sue (Sharp). They celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary in 2020. They were blessed with four sons, lived and raised their Family in Bartlesville, OK and Grandview, MO. They moved to Shawnee, KS in 1992 and to Bella Vista, AR in 2003. He was employed as a Mechanical Draftsman by Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, OK for nine years, Clipper Manufacturing Company in Grandview, MO for five years, and as the Director of Fertilizer Equipment Sales at Farmland Industries in Kansas City, MO.  He retired from Farmland after 18 years of service.  Clyde then joined the Dearborn/Midwest Conveyor Company in Kansas City, KS as a contract Mechanical Draftsman, and retired after 11 years in 2001.

He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals and the Chiefs, and had a love for The University of Kansas Jayhawks Basketball program.  He also enjoyed bowling, golf, and especially working with his hands.

He is survived by his wife Sandy and four Sons: Craig and Michelle, Gambrills, MD. Bret and Donna, Lyndeborough, NH, Curt, Overland Park, KS, Christopher and Laurel, Medina, OH., six Grandchildren, and six Great Grandchildren.  Brother, Gail Mader, Garnett, KS., and Sister, Carol Lee Chezem, Ketchum, OK. He was preceded in death by his Father, Mark in 1981, his Mother Katie, in 2002, Brothers Loren in 1966 Mark Jr. in 1991, Kenneth in 1997, and Patricia Platt in 2018
