Jeanne Bowen, 73, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 26, with her devoted husband, Rick, and loving sister, Janet, by her side.

Jeanne worked as an analyst for the Sprint Corporation for many years. She was a life-long learner and frequently joked that due to her analytical nature, she couldn't help but to push back when someone would say something that didn't quite make sense to her. She was passionate about her beliefs and enjoyed cordial debate. Those that knew Jeanne well knew of her love of dragons – but only the mean ones!

Jeanne loved to travel and especially enjoyed visiting national parks throughout the country with Rick. During these adventures, they made numerous memories camping, white water rafting, fishing, sight-seeing, & trying local craft breweries and restaurants. When not traveling, they enjoyed watching various television series, gardening, and riding their 4 wheelers together. Jeanne and Rick were married for 35 years. He was the love of her life, and she was his.

Born the oldest of 4, Jeanne was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Francis and Marcia, and her two brothers, John and Joe. She leaves behind her sister, Janet.

They enjoyed reminiscing about their childhood, sharing funny memories about their brothers, and playing cards together. Jeanne and Janet spent many hours driving back and forth to Indiana together to care for their dad in his final months. During these drives they joked that they came up with solutions to end hunger and create world peace, among other things. Even though they lived in different states, they were very close. Janet always looked up to Jeanne and will miss her dearly.

"Aunt Jeanne" was very close to her nieces and their children, one of whom was named after her.  She enjoyed hearing about their milestones and was a treasured part of their lives. She looked forward to hearing about their successes and always cheered them on from afar. They viewed her as incredibly knowledgeable and will miss hearing her perspective on how she viewed the world.

Jeanne also cherished the time she spent with her best friends, Tina, Deb, Val, Shirley, and Shelly. She always smiled when she would tell a story about a day spent at the creek or an outing they had taken together. She lovingly referred to them as "the girls" and their friendship meant so much to her.

There will be a private celebration of life held at the end of the month with her family and close friends.
