On Saturday, October 1, 2022, Delores Elizabeth Toppen of Bella Vista, AR was taken by her Father in Heaven.  She was born in Corsica, South Dakota.  Her mother, Elizabeth Menning died shortly after Delores' birth.  She was raised in Corsica by Clarence and Gertrude Menning.

She was married Christmas Eve, 1951 to Harold Toppen and lived in various locations as Harold was in the Air Force.  They eventually moved to Huntington Beach, CA where her three children; Michael, Marshall and Susan were raised.  After some time as a stay-at-home mom, she obtained a cosmetology certificate.  She worked in this endeavor for a few years before she decided to do something more challenging.  She went back to school and earned her Licensed Vocational Nurse degree and then again went back to school to achieve her Registered Nursing License.  She worked in various hospitals and care facility settings until her retirement.

She enjoyed family, friends, and church activities throughout her life.  She loved to cook and was a person who loved entertaining for church and neighborhood friends.  She was involved in all aspects of extracurricular activities with her children.  She lived to celebrate her 70 ^th wedding anniversary in 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roy; sister, Eunice Bordewyk; and adopted brother, John McDowell.

Delores is survived by her husband, three children, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three siblings: Mary Fuller, Phyllis Hanks and James Menning.

A celebration of her life will be at her son, Michael's home on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.

It was Delores' wish to be cremated and her ashes will be returned to the Earth.
