Obituary

Don I. McMahon, 82, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, March 16 at the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Don was born on May 29, 1941, in Clinton, Iowa to Charles and Augusta McMahon. He served in the US Army from 1959-1963. While stationed in France, Don played on the Army's basketball team which traveled around Europe as GoodWill Ambassadors.

Don was united in marriage to Lois Landon on March 13th, 1965, in Clinton, Iowa. They were married for 59 years.

Prior to owning his own business in Georgia, Don worked for Ralston Purina in Clinton, Iowa and was then Plant Manager for Pet Life Foods in Hamilton, Michigan.

During his life, Don enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, golfing, and volunteering at his church and in his community.

Don is survived by his wife, Lois McMahon of Bella Vista; daughter, Elizabeth Johnson and her husband, Thomas of Allen, Texas; son, Edward McMahon and his wife, Amanda of Hamilton, Michigan; grandchildren, Morgan Eoff and her husband, Bryan of McKinney, Texas;  Marshall Johnson of Allen, Texas; Connor McMahon and his wife, Krysta, Brogan Bonzelaar and her husband, Patrick, Teghan McMahon and his wife, Ana, Sawyer McMahon and his wife, Morgan, and Brecken McMahon all of Hamilton, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Landon and Liam Eoff of McKinney, Texas; Callahan Bonzelaar and Bryton McMahon of Hamilton, Michigan; brother, Richard McMahon and his wife, Sue; and his nephew, Kevin Miller all of Clinton, Iowa.

A celebration of life will be held at The First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72715 on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 2pm.

Memorials in Don's honor can be given to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or The First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista.
