Don Winston
Stout
Nov 26, 1931 — Oct 31, 2024
Bella Vista
Don Winston Stout, passed peacefully from this life at home in Bella Vista, AR on October 31, 2024, at the age of 92. He was born on November 26, 1931, in Duke, OK to CR and Libby Stout.
He was raised on the family farm in Oklahoma, sharing adventures with his 2 older brothers, Raymond and Leroy and older sister, Joyce. After graduating from Victory High School in 1948, he went to a local college for a short study in Geology. He entered the Air Force as a young man and was stationed in England during part of the Korean Conflict.
He married Margaret McCarthy on April 12, 1952, their daughter Linda was born September 29 the same year. During this time, he was stationed out of Riverside, CA. Their second child, Nansii was born February 4, 1954, in Inglewood, CA where the family resided. Don and Peggy had divorced before Nansii was born.
Don married Mary and had a third daughter, Donna Francine, who passed away at the tender age of 2. Then, his 4th daughter, Gwendolyn Doniece was born.
Don finally got it right when he married Russa Lou on June 21, 1995, at least his 3 daughters agreed that it was great. She and her son, Carl, were welcomed into the Stout family and all were treated like blood.
To say that Don had an adventurous life would be an understatement. Don never met a stranger. Wherever he traveled in his salesman years, he would always meet soon-to-be life-long friends. Don spent most of his life in sales and traveled a lot of the time. He lived in Texas until he and Russa Lou moved to Arkansas approximately 8 years ago to be closer to family.
Don was an avid golfer, as are most of the gentlemen in our family. He also loved to go to the Coast every year to fish. He and Russa Lou would load up the dogs and the travel trailer to take road trips to the Coast and to Ruidoso, New Mexico. In his spare time, Don loved to tinker and make things. He built the cabinets in their Wichita Falls home and a beautiful gun case.
His entire family, young and old, cherishes the time we had and the memories that we all shared with him.
Don was the youngest in his family and was preceded in death by his parents; his 3 siblings; two of his daughters, Linda Cooper and Donna Francine Stout; grandson and wife, Mark and Janene Thompson; and most recently, his wife, Russa Lou Stout.
He is survived by his daughters, Nansii (Bryan) Downer and Gwen Scichowski; his stepson, Carl (Sonja) Scott; grandchildren, Michael (Lisa), Scott (Melissa), Kerenza (Vinny), Jaymes (Jordan), Michael (Julie), Charis (Marcus), Jerusha (Timothy), Solomon (Alyssa), Justus, Peyton, Morgan, Jaren, Gabbi and Jacob. He was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.
