Godsey
Feb 5, 1945 — Oct 19, 2026
Bella Vista, AR
Donnie Bruce “Don” Godsey, 81, passed away on October 19, 2026.
Don was born on February 5, 1945, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Raymond Lee Godsey and Flora Hudgins. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
A man of many talents, Don was a musician, skilled tradesman, and entrepreneur. He believed in the value of hard work and took pride in all that he did. He was a man who could wear many hats, always willing to put his skills and determination to good use.
In 1971, Don married Carol Jean Weingartner, and together they built a life filled with love, faith, family, and countless memories. Above all else, Don deeply loved his wife. Carol was his partner in life, and his love and devotion to her were unwavering. Their marriage was a testament to the deep and lasting bond they shared.
Together, Don and Carol raised three sons: Scott Godsey of Denver, Colorado; Jason Godsey of Cave Springs, Arkansas; and Ryan Godsey of Springdale, Arkansas. Don was also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. His family was one of his greatest joys, and he loved them deeply.
Don had a special love for the mountains of Colorado, where he found beauty and joy in the grandeur of God’s creation. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh. Whether through a well-timed joke, a funny story, or his quick wit, Don had a gift for bringing smiles to those around him.
A faithful member of Bella Vista Assembly of God, Don’s faith was an important part of his life. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his generous spirit, his humor, and most of all, the tremendous love he had for his family.
Don leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, laughter, and a love that will continue to be felt for generations. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
His was a life well lived, a family deeply loved, and a love story that will never be forgotten.
