Duane Randall Penner, 71, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 7, 2024, at his home. He was born April 3, 1953, and spent his early years in Ingalls, Kansas.

The family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1958 to the Bear Valley area. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1971 and was baptized at the Garden Park Mennonite Church by his maternal grandfather. Duane played college basketball at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas and graduated in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in English. He taught English at Hillsboro High School, coached tennis, and sponsored the yearbook. Later, Duane attended Wichita State University to study graphic design. He was the Art Director at Pizza Hut in Wichita, Kansas and went on to start a digital design business: Chromatech, which was renamed Computer Images, and eventually Digital Arts as technology evolved. In 2018, Duane and his wife, Lynne retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas where Duane was involved in the Bella Vista Fly Tyers Club and served as the Treasurer, several golf groups, and was an avid gardener.

Duane was preceded in death by his father, Howard Penner; mother, E. Lois Penner (Gerbrandt); and brother, Bryan Penner.

He is survived by his wife, Lynne Penner; daughters, Elizabeth Parks (Ryan) and Rebekah Kingsley (Brad); stepsons, Jase Ramsey, Justin Ramsey, and Jarrod Ramsey; brother, Rod Penner (Sue); grandchildren, Brandon Parks, Collin Parks, Logan Parks, Will Kingsley, and Anna Grace Kingsley; and his faithful companion, Buster.

A celebration of life reception will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 4:00 pm at the Lakepoint Restaurant – Tasting Room, 101 Marina Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72715.
