Obituary

Edmund L. Stay, Sr., grandad, gpa of Rogers, AR, formerly of Hutchinson, KS, met his Lord & Savior August 12, 2024, while surrounded by his wife and children. He was ready and looking forward to seeing Jesus and his great grandson, Dominic again who was killed in an accident at age 15.

Ed was born in Schenectady, NY on March 7, 1939, to Fredrick and Winifred Stay. He joined the Navy in May of 1956 and was honorably discharged in May of 1958. While stationed in Hutchinson, KS he met his future wife, Lorana Carter. They were married on August 5, 1960.

Ed worked for Cessna/Eaton for 34 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, John and Laura Carter; 2 sister-in-laws; 4 sisters; 3 brother-in-laws; and 5 brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years; son, Wesley (Jackie) of Gravette, AR; son, Eddie (Esther) of Monroe, WA; daughter by heart, Nancy Curtis of Gravette, AR; 6 grandchildren, Zachary Stay, Madison Parsons, Mary (Michael) Heath, John (Joy) Stay of Bella Vista, Mason Curtis, and Quincy Curtis; 11 great grandchildren, Miah, Carmella, Henley, Thatcher Parsons, Sadie, James, Florence Heath, Adaline, Arabelle, Ayo, Avalynn Stay, and one due in December; sister, Doris Clark of Hutchinson, KS; sister, Bonnie of NY; and many nieces and nephews that were very special to him and he loved dearly.

Ed has been cremated and a memorial service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Baptist Church, 1599 West Olive Street, Rogers, AR 72756 officiated by Pastor Ed Pearson. A memorial service will be held at Westside Baptist Church, 400 W 12th Avenue, Hutchinson, KS on August 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
