Obituary

Eldred Duaine Scott II, known to his friends and family as 'Chip', passed away June 25th. Chip's family couldn't have asked for a more loving, thoughtful husband and father. Chip was born in Erie, Pennsylvania where he lived his early childhood before moving to Santa Ana, California where he met his wife and started his family.

He and his wife retired in Bella Vista, Arkansas. He was a kind man who always wanted to help anyone in need and always put his family first. In his younger days Chip loved to play beach volleyball and snow ski. Later in life he enjoyed watching his children in every sport they played and never missed a single game. He had a knack for cooking breakfast foods and made amazing pancakes that his family looked forward to. He was an intelligent man that loved to learn and thought everything through before doing it. He was an incredibly handy man who you could count on to fix anything. Whether it was an oil leak in the car, building new shelves, or doing a full remodeling of the backyard -- Chip would always find ways to do it himself. He was a hard worker, managing to work full time, help around the house, and still patiently help his kids with their homework when they struggled.

He is remembered by those who loved him for his great sense of humor and how much he loved to make people laugh. Chip was a very quiet man surrounded by big talkers, but when he did speak everyone listened. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He will be joining his son, Joshua; his brother, Noel; and his parents who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; his children, Adam and Serena; grandsons, Griffen, Kemper, Mason & JJ; and his sisters, Shere & Heather.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Highland Christian Church, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista, AR 72715. In accordance with his wishes he will have a tree pod burial.
