Emma Jean Angeline (Wolf) Woodward passed away at home on February 14, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in Cassville, MO, on October 16, 1935, to Adell Voidle Wolf and Trellous Rosetta (Linkous) Wolf.

At the age of 15, she left home for Wichita, Kansas, to work and send money back to save the family farm. There, she was introduced to Richard Trinkle by his niece, Judy, at the five and dime store where Emma Jean worked. They built their home outside of Wichita paycheck to paycheck where they raised their two children, Wes and Karen. She helped support the family by taking in odd jobs washing and ironing laundry, clipping poodles, making clothing and crafts, and designing and sewing her own designer handbags of which she sold hundreds, if not thousands.

She wanted to be remembered as someone who always helped others. Emma Jean will also be remembered for her love of gardening, music, fishing, square dancing, bowling, garage sales, traveling, and crafting. She played the guitar and the mandolin and was known to family for writing her own country western songs. She took great joy in cooking and baking. In 1976, she danced in the National Square Dance Convention in Anaheim, California, "A Past to Remember," the largest square dancing event ever to date. She once caught a 35 lb. fish and reeled that sucker in herself. She held the record for the largest fish caught at Wilson Lake in Kansas for some time. Her CB radio handle was "Stitch Witch."

She had a green thumb and would insist you take a cut of whatever plant she currently had growing in her living room or garden if you stopped by. She bred countless exotic birds, from lovebirds to scarlet macaws. She was known by all the neighborhood songbirds for having the best bird feeders around.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Wesley Trinkle (1983) and Jerald Lawrence Woodward (2020); her parents; and her five brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her children, Wesley Gene Trinkle (Diane Wilmoth Swaton) and Karen Sue Trinkle (Lyle Chandler); her grandchildren, Amanda Trinkle (Jeromy Overman), Andrew Trinkle (Brandy Riddle), Elliot Long (Christy Elder), Alex Long (Jordon Henrichs); honorary grandchild, Josh Davis; and her great-grandchildren, Oliver Overman and Luna Davis.

Emma Jean's life will be celebrated privately with family.

She will forever be our Valentine's angel.
