Eugene Paul Kimmel, affectionately known as "Gene," passed away peacefully at home December 11th, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, wit, and love. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on June 19, 1940, Gene was the beloved son of William L. "Bill" Kimmel and Violet Kimmel (Speck).  He and his brother Theodore (Ted) grew up in Los Angeles California before moving to Northwest Arkansas around 1952.

Gene, a Christian and member of the Bella Vista Christian Fellowship Church and was always known to wear a cross necklace as a proud declaration of his faith.

Gene was a devoted husband to Claudia Kimmel, with whom he shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they nurtured a loving family, including their children Mike, Valerie, Mark and Tara Kimmel along with Jeff, Matt and Austin Shy.  Gene's life was further enriched by the many grandkids and great grandkids.

A true entrepreneur at heart, Gene was the President and owner of Bemco Inc., an aeronautics supplier founded by his father, Bill. Gene's leadership and vision helped steer the company through growth eras as well as navigating through the threats of closure.

Gene's passions extended beyond business. A loyal fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, he proudly expressed his disdain for the Texas Longhorns and several other opponents. His zest for life was evident in his commitment to health and fitness. He participated in numerous road races, marathons, and triathlons, showcasing his physical and mental endurance.

A lover of words, Gene indulged in The New York Times crossword puzzles daily and excelled at word games, always finishing them with unparalleled speed.

Gene was known for his sharp communication style, always willing to express his thoughts candidly. He cherished the simple joys of life, such as enjoying a martini at 5:00 sharp and watching the evening news.

Travel was another passion, and Gene and Claudia cherished their time spent in Kauai, which was their favorite winter retreat.

Gene's life was a rich tapestry woven with love, adventure, and achievement. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will hold his memory in their hearts forever.

The family is honoring his life through the holidays and will share plans for a celebration to be held later.
