Evelyn Marie
Wilmoth
Dec 28, 1942 — Feb 24, 2024
Gravette
Evelyn Marie Wilmoth (81), of Gravette, AR passed away on February 24, 2024.
Evelyn was born in Appleton City, Missouri to Warren and Minnie Smith on December 28, 1942. They were farmers. Being a farmer's daughter, her job was to help around the house with the inside chores like cooking, cleaning, and caring for her younger siblings. She enjoyed being with family and neighbors.
Evelyn was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gravette. Evelyn loved children and pouring into them. She ran a daycare and preschool in her home for forty years. She touched so many young ones' lives and helped them grow into beautiful, productive young citizens. Years later, many of those who grew up at Evelyn's preschool brought their own children to be mentored by Evelyn as well to enjoy the nurturing they received.
Evelyn loved her family and especially doted on her grandchildren. She took time with each and every one of them to remind them how much they were loved and cherished. She was so very proud to watch each of them grow up and become the wonderful young adults they are today.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Minnie, and her husband, Larry Wilmoth.
She is survived by her three children, Scotty and wife, Lei, Robin and husband, Tim, and Suzanna and husband, John; 9 grandchildren, Jonathan, Benjamin, Johanna, Evangeline, Tanner, Garrett, Brooklyn, Kaitlyn, and Mason; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, 305 Main Street SW, Gravette, AR 72736, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse, AR.
