Born to Benjamin & Hettie Cocke in Rockport, Texas on August 22, 1932 - Frances was the youngest of twelve siblings. Frances married William "Bill" Thomason on Christmas Eve in 1956, and they lived in Irving, Texas - their home for almost 50 years where they raised their two sons, William Alan and Larry Kyle.

Frances and Bill traveled the world together their entire lives, from visiting national parks on family fishing trips - to flying around the world and visiting places like China, Scotland, Greece, Mexico and many more. She never failed to document their travels with her ever present film camera, and aimed to learn as much as she could about this amazing world.

Frances was also a skilled flower gardener, the perfect match for Bill, a vegetable gardener. Together they collected interesting plants and flowers from their travels, and had a home that was full of life and exotic plants. To this day, their family home is surrounded by unique varieties of all of her favorite flowers and heirloom plants.

Not only a gardener - a prolific crocheter, embroiderist, quilter and seamstress; Frances leaves behind a lifetime of magnificent and intricate fiber arts. Each child and grandchild was blessed with hand embroidered dishtowels, hand crocheted tablecloths, personalized quilts, clothes for dolls and many more handcrafted gifts of love.

Aside from this amazing legacy, perhaps Frances' greatest contribution to this world was her love. Frances had boundless love for her family. Any opportunity she had to speak to her family, she told them all to "Be happy!" and wished them all to lead successful, enjoyable lives. She urged her children and grandchildren to pursue education fervently, follow their passions, and truly live life.

Frances is survived by her son Alan and his wife Monica Thomason, and their children Shelby and Steven Thomas and Will and Aly Thomason; and her son Larry and his wife Tanya Thomason, and their children Nathan, Lia and Noah.

Frances' greatest joy was her family, and her entire family was able to be present at the moment of her passing on December 23 - united in love, and in prayer. Frances leaves a legacy of happiness, many cookbooks full of handwritten recipes, pictures of a life truly and deeply lived, and a family that misses her intensely.

Frances' graveside service will be held on Friday, December 29th at 11:00 a.m. in the Wardlaw Cemetery, 13660 Sugar Creek Road, Rogers, AR 72756, where she will be laid to rest next to Bill.
