Frank Duane Rice, age 97, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, in Bella Vista, Arkansas. He was born on September 10, 1926, in Fredericktown, Pennsylvania to Esther (Spencer) and John "Foxy" Rice.

He served in the United States Army during WWII and was proud of the Bronze Star he earned for his service. On June 19, 1949, Frank married Lula Townsend in Mishawaka, Indiana. They raised 6 children together during their 68 years of marriage.

Frank was a member of Bella Vista Nazarene Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He loved to sing the hymns and always sang with gusto.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Lula; his parents; his brothers and sisters; and his daughter, Margrett (David) Cook.

He is survived by five children: Lois (Randy) Jones, Sharon (Dennis) Houck, David (Lauren) Rice, Richard (Jill) Rice, and Andrea (Doug) Henkel;14 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, 1000 S Lt Col Leroy Pond Ave., Fayetteville, AR 72701. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Bella Vista Nazarene Church, 760 W. Lancashire Boulevard in Bella Vista, Arkansas 72715, with Rev. Dr. Richard Rice officiating.
