Frederick Francis Frye, 85, Bella Vista, AR passed on to his eternal rest on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Son of Marion and Lona Frye, he was born their middle son on July 16, 1938, in Lexington, KY.

He graduated from the University of Kentucky January 22, 1960, and accepted his Commission as an Officer in the U.S. Army.  While stationed in Ankara, Turkey he met "the prettiest girl in Ankara", Barbara Ellis.  They were wed on May 19, 1962.  Their son, Michael was born May 11, 1963, and after moving for duty in Asmara, in what at the time was still Ethiopia, they welcomed their daughter, Lisa.  After serving 8 years in the Army, he returned to civilian life. The family moved to Tulsa, OK where Fred began his long and successful career in computer sales with IBM.  His career included successes with Ahmdal, Data Point and Lee Data.

Fred never met a stranger. At least not after he met you.  He left everyone with a sense that he wasn't looking for a fleeting engagement, but that he was a deeply caring person who wanted to know who you were as a person.  His passion, besides Wildcat basketball, was golf. He loved his time on the golf course for no other reason than the camaraderie. He loved music of all types and had a song for any situation.

His Love for his wife and best friend, Barbara is a study in marriage.  Their successes as a couple and as a team were second to none, and a blueprint for what that institution should be.  From Tulsa to Atlanta and finally, to the home they loved in Bella Vista they traveled and enjoyed love and life together.

His kindness, caring, and deep love for friends and family will be greatly missed by everyone.  If you knew Fred at all you loved Fred.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lona and Marion; brother, Paul; and his mother & father-in-law, Richard and Jeanne Ellis.

Fred is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; son, Michael; daughter, Lisa Randolph; granddaughter, Leslie; daughter-in-law, Shirley; grandson, Tony; son-in-law, Thomas; and brother, David.
