Gary J. Cowell, 83, died Sunday, June 2, 2024. He has finished the race and is with his Lord in heaven. He was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa on September 11, 1940.

He married his sweetheart, Annette DeVeny on May 28, 1960, in Waterloo, Iowa. After retirement from John Deere, he and Annette moved from Waterloo, Iowa to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1996.While living in Bella Vista, they've enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and people of the Village.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Esther (Kortenkamp) Cowell, sister, Mary Beth (Cowell) Hilger and brother, Mikel Cowell.

He is survived by his wife, Annette (DeVeny) Cowell of Bella Vista, Arkansas; his children, Cindi (Cowell) and Jerry Eastman of Hudson, Iowa and Greg and Lynn (Martin) Cowell of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Courtney (McBride) and Matt McKinley of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Chelsea McBride of Waterloo, Iowa and Whitney (Eastman) and Drew Wilson of Waterloo, Iowa, Zachary and Shelby Cowell of Bangor Maine, Mariah (Cowell) and Danielle Mercier of Salt Lake City, Utah and Madison Cowell of Lynchburg, Virginia; great grandchildren, Emmett and Eila Wilson of Waterloo, Iowa; siblings, Jane (Cowell) Hancock of Waterloo, Iowa, Colleen (Cowell) and Pat Roberts of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jeff and Esther Cowell of Waterloo, Iowa and Carol Cowell of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will take place in Waterloo, Iowa at a later date.
