Obituary

Gary L. Jones , 79, died January 9, 2023, at his home in Bella Vista, AR. Gary was born in Yale, Oklahoma, October 12, 1943, to Jake & Leta Irene Jones. He was the youngest of three boys, Jerry and his twin, Larry. When they were young their mother would dress them identically in cowboy shirts, jeans and boots and they would sing for different community groups. They were known as the Jones' Boys.

The family moved to Drummond, Oklahoma, when the boys were in first grade. With their father, they enjoyed hunting and fishing and what it meant to do hard work. The next years were indeed "The Wonder" years. Their exploits as pre-teenage boys in a small town are still legendary today. Indeed "the whole town is talking about the Jones' Boys".

He attended OSU and after an unfortunate event, involving the student union and a bull, he joined the Marine Corps. In boot camp, (Camp Pendleton) he was named platoon leader. While serving in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Smith, Hawaii, is where he met and married his first wife, Jane Nagai. They had two children, Rick & Michelle Jones. They moved back to the Tulsa area after his honorable discharge from the service.

Gary worked for Arrow Trucking for over 40 years. Gary married Elaine (Moore) Jones in 1987.He was quite a golfer and after retirement they retired to Bella Vista, AR in 2016. He enjoyed several rounds a week until a quad bypass heart surgery resulted in the need for kidney dialysis. He fought his way through ESRb for many years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane, and his children.

He is survived by his wife and brothers.

The family wishes to thank the Benton County Dialysis Center, Dr. John Wu, Loren Wish, and Circle of Life Hospice for their excellent loving care.

In lieu of flowers friends may contribute to National Kidney Foundation or Circle of Life Hospice.
