George Robert Currie passed away March 3, 2024, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville Arkansas, with his family by his side. He was born on April 29, 1943, in Silver City, New Mexico to George and Janet Currie.

George was united in marriage to his wife, Judy Rae Currie on September 23, 1978. He loved his job working in South-Central Los Angeles, where he was a policeman in the LAPD. During his time there, he was awarded the Medal of Valor as a commencement for his bravery and having saved a life with his quick and fearless action.

George spent his time doing the little things that he loved, like hunting, fishing, golfing, and he was particularly passionate about painting. He also loved to take the time to enjoy all these things and others with his family, helping them learn what he knew and being a supportive figure to all that were around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Janet Currie, and his brothers, Donald, and Jim Currie.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Currie; four children, Richard and Lori Currie, Mike and Brenda Currie, Todd Hoofman, and Charles Hoofman; grandchildren, Brandon Taylor, Chase Taylor, Noah Warren, Dalton Warren, Tristan Hoofman, Layton Hoofman, and Logan Hoofman.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1 Lambeth Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72714 at 2:00pm.
