George Franklin Scott, 83, of Bella Vista, AR, passed away on November 24, 2022. George was born in Lake Forest, IL on March 3, 1940, to George Scott, Sr. and Edna Scott.

He worked as a design engineer for his own business. George graduated from Waukegan Township High School in Waukegan, IL. In August 1961, he enlisted with the U.S. Air Force and served at Lincoln Air Force Base in Lincoln, NE as a Fuel System Maintenance Specialist. In 1984, George met Karen at a Parents Without Partners event and they later married on January 2, 1989. Upon retirement in 2003, George and Karen moved to Hannibal, MO, where he  became well-known for his larger than life impersonation of Mark Twain. He could be frequently found walking around the streets of Hannibal as Mark. People enjoyed his stories about Mark Twain's life, injected with a dash of his own quirky sense of humor. George truly loved making people happy with his Mark Twain persona and had so many wonderful experiences with the people he met.  As Mark Twain, George was featured in many articles, television programs, and was even in a PBS program aired in Croatia. He was also excited to have met some very interesting people during this time, such as Ron Powers, Hal Holbrook, Jim Post (musician and Mark Twain impersonator), and Warren Brown (writer and Mark Twain impersonator). George and Karen moved to Bella Vista, AR in 2014.

George was preceded in death by his father, George, Sr. and mother, Edna.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen Scott (Luczkowski); son, Jonathan Scott; stepdaughter, Kristie Arciszewski; and his doggies Seymour, Boomer, and Bailey Rose.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bella Vista Funeral Home, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715 with burial and prayer service to follow at 1:30 PM at Fayetteville National Cemetery, 1000 S. Lt. Col. Leroy Pond Avenue, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
