Glenda Rae Kettering, 80, of Bella Vista, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, with her husband Scott at her side, following a brave battle with Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia.

Glenda Rae Trotter was born in LaSalle, IL on February 13, 1946. She graduated from United Township High School in East Moline, IL in June 1964. She married Scott Kettering, her high school sweetheart, on December 5, 1964. She worked as a bank teller at Rock Island Arsenal Federal Credit Union at Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, IL, retiring to Bella Vista in 2005. She was a life-long United Methodist.

She found great joy caring for her family, and supporting many church, school, and community activities. She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, playing Mexican Train, and the time spent with each of the dogs she loved and cared for throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Helen Goentzel.

She is survived by her husband, Scott, of Bella Vista; her son, Brian Kettering, of Olathe, KS; and her grandchildren, Rachel Kettering, of Lawrence, KS, Sarah Kettering, of Olathe, KS, and Michael Kettering, of Olathe, KS; and beloved Shih Tzu dog, Casper Kettering, of the home.

A memorial service will be held at Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, Bella Vista, AR, on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Casual attire is requested, as Glenda preferred.
