Hiram White "Red" Herring , of Bella Vista, Arkansas, went to his Heavenly Home Monday, August 30, 2021. He was born on February 21, 1937, in Bruce, Mississippi to Thomas Garner Herring and Mary Evalena White Herring.

He grew up in Montgomery, Alabama and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama and a Master's in Education degree from University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. He also attended Springfield College, Springfield, Massachusetts.

Red met the love of his life, Faith, at Ridgecrest Baptist Conference Center in 1959.  They married in 1962 and recently celebrated 59 years.

Red worked as a YMCA director in Atlanta, Georgia, Covington, Kentucky, Lynchburg, Virginia and Bradenton, Florida.  He later worked for Manatee County Schools in Florida as an occupational specialist, teacher and guidance counselor.  His passion was helping young people find their direction in life, even after he retired in 1996.

He and Faith moved to Bella Vista in 2013 from Bradenton, Florida where they had lived for 44 years.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bradenton, Florida for over 28 years and served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Gideons International. He enjoyed golf and was a huge fan of Auburn University sports.

He was a member of the Bella Vista Baptist Church, Bella Vista, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tony D. Herring.

He is survived by his wife, Faith Herring of Bella Vista; two sons, Timothy A. Herring of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania., Richard T. Herring (wife Venessa) of Saint Petersburg, Florida, one daughter, Susan H. Sharon (husband Dan) of Gravette, Arkansas, and four grandchildren: Anna, Luke, Nathan, Daniel and a host of extended family and friends.

A private funeral with immediate family only will be held at a later date.
