Hugh Turner, 79, of Pineville, Missouri passed away on September 26, 2021 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Hugh was born in New Mexico on October 17, 1941 to the late Jake and Winnie Turner of Cassville, Missouri.
Hugh was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served with the California Highway Patrol and was the Chief of Police in Pea Ridge, AR. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed archery, hunting, fishing, football, and spending time in the woods. He was a talented builder, electrician, and craftsman who owned and operated Hugh Turner Construction in the years preceding his death. Hugh's final memories were spent in the place he loved the most, the deer woods. He was deeply loved, and he loved deeply.
Hugh was preceded in death by his wife Jill Turner of Pea Ridge Arkansas; sister Dava-Lee Aryan of Tulsa, Oklahoma; parents Jake and Winnie Turner of Cassville, Missouri; and brother-in-law Bill Wolf of Cassville, Missouri.
Hugh is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Diane Burgess-Turner of Pineville, Missouri. He is also survived by sons: David (Susie) Turner of Springfield, Missouri, Paul Turner of Craig, Colorado, Clayton (Milani) Turner of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and daughter Julie (Michael) Gabbard of West Fork, Arkansas; as well as step-children: Melissa (Rick) Slusher of Anderson, Missouri, Kali Reynolds of Decatur, Arkansas, and Father-in-law Vernon Gruhn of Pineville, Missouri. Hugh is also survived by five granddaughters and one step-granddaughter: Brett Nelson, Ryan Nelson, Meredith Gabbard, Rebecca Gabbard, Morgan Gabbard and Madison Slusher. Hugh's surviving siblings are: Gary Turner of Seligman, Missouri, Greg (Janet) Turner of Cassville, Missouri, Levina Wolf of Cassville, Missouri, and Bobbie (Hank) Langer of Powersite, Missouri .
*A celebration of Hugh's life will be held at the Bella Vista Funeral Home, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista, Arkansas, on Saturday October 23 rd at 2:00 p.m.
