Jack C. Kolbe, 85 of Bella Vista, AR, passed away at 9:45 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Highlands Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Carroll, IA on July 27, 1939, to parents, George and Ruth (Irwin) Kolbe.

He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1957 and Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa in 1962. While attending college on the weekends, he worked for a mason contractor and learned how to do cement work, a skill he used all his life.

Jack married Janice Anderson from Gowrie, IA, on June 10, 1961. To that union they were blessed with two children: Kevin (Susan) of West Lafayette, IN, and Kimberly (Gerard) of Bella Vista, AR.

After college graduation, Jack worked for Swift & Company for 7 years. The family moved to State Farm Insurance in accounting. After 2 years he was transferred to the home office in Bloomington, IL. There he worked in accounting and data processing from 1970 until 1997.

In 1998 he and Janice moved to Bella Vista. In the ensuing years, Jack enjoyed construction projects with his brother, Larry. He loved golf, bowling, and singing in the church choir and as a member of the Bella Vista Men's Chorus. Jack's presence was often felt as he whistled or sang. He was an active member of Bella Vista First United Methodist Church, sharing his carpentry skills with many projects, including the audio-visual booth in the sanctuary. He enjoyed the Methodist Men and especially helping with the pancake breakfast.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister, Judith (Robert) Bersch.

Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice; his children, Kevin (Susan) Kolbe and Kimberly (Gerard) Davenport; grandchildren, his pride and joy, Kolby Williams, Lydia Kolbe, Lilly (Matthew Cochran) Kolbe; brothers, Larry (Fran) Kolbe and William (Donna) Kolbe; sister, Marjorie Dinges; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Bella Vista First United Methodist Church (Sanctuary), 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72715. A reception will follow the service in Becker Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bella Vista First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, AR, or to a charity of donor's choice.
