Jeanne Carolyn Birge, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born on December 10, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Jeanne spent most of her life in Texarkana, Texas—a place she lovingly called home. Soon after graduating from Liberty Eylau High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Dan Birge. As a young bride, Jeanne followed Dan to California while he served in the United States Navy, beginning a lifetime marked by devotion, adventure, and unwavering partnership.

In 1974, Jeanne began her career with Home Interior and Gifts as a displayer. Her creativity, leadership, and genuine love for people quickly distinguished her, and she rose to the position of Unit Manager. Jeanne had a remarkable ability to inspire the women she led and to create beautiful, welcoming spaces for all she served.

In 1990, Jeanne answered a higher calling and began working in full time ministry. She served faithfully as a church administrator, Christian counselor, and Bible teacher at Church on the Rock Texarkana and First Baptist Church Texarkana. Her wisdom, steadfast faith, and compassionate heart guided countless lives. Jeanne's ministry was not confined to a title—it was evident in every conversation, every prayer, and the way she shared the love of Jesus with everyone around her.

Jeanne will be remembered for her warm spirit, her steady faith, and her lifelong dedication to serving others. Her home and her heart were always open, and her legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of many years, Dan Birge; her son, Mike Birge and his wife, Sabrina; her daughter, Melinda Birge Bunyard and her husband, Joel; her five treasured grandsons: William Birge, Parker Birge, Joseph Bunyard (Morgan), John Bunyard (Elise), and James Bunyard (Kristina); and three granddaughters Whitney, Abby, and Annie Woodard.
