Jeannette Alice (nee Waas, Boatright) Hume, 68, of Bella Vista AR, passed away on February 14, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. She peacefully crossed over her bridge to eternal life without pain to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

She was born in Ventura, CA in 1957 to Doyle and Bernice Waas and has lived in Oklahoma, Colorado, Alaska, Florida, Texas, and finally Arkansas. Jeannette graduated from Havana High School in Havana, AR and briefly attended the University of Arkansas. She earned her bachelor's degree in history from the University of Oklahoma. Her passion for teaching led her to earn her teaching credentials from the University of Colorado. She taught high school history, chemistry, and science, usually to special needs students. Jeannette retired from the Florida Department of Education as the Grant Manager over all special needs funding.

Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister, Judy Waas.

She is survived by her husband, Duane Hume; her identical twin sons, Zachary Doyle and Gavin Wayne Boatright; and her sister, Sheila (nee Waas) Hillegeist.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Bella Vista Funeral Home, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715.
