Obituary

Jeff Siemers, 75, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away in his home on Friday, October 22nd, 2021. He was with family in his final week.

Jeff grew up in Columbus and Bowbells, North Dakota. He spent his childhood days playing with his sisters and neighborhood friends, only coming inside when called for meals. As he got older, Jeff continued his adventures with his childhood friends. I enjoyed hearing the story of when he took a road trip from North Dakota to Acapulco, Mexico, with two close friends in a Pinto.

After he graduated, Jeff attended and graduated from North Dakota State University.  While he was there, he was a member of the Army ROTC and leadership fraternity Delta Tau Omega and became a lifelong Bison fan.  He majored in Mathematics and continued his education in Economics, earning a master's degree.  After that, he was stationed in Germany during Vietnam and seized the opportunity to take multiple road trips all over Europe.

After his honorable discharge from the Army, Jeff had a successful career in sales with Burroughs and Unisys. He developed multiple lifelong friendships at work. Jeff married Janis Johnson and moved to the Twin Cities, where they raised two beautiful children, Jackie and Dustin. You could always find him in the bleachers at a swim meet or any of their events cheering them on. An avid reader, Jeff was often found with a book or newspaper in hand. While Jeff and Janis decided to part ways as husband and wife, they never parted as friends. So much so, they remained neighbors on the same street.

Once he retired, he moved to Bella Vista. He had an active life golfing, hiking the beautiful trails of NW Arkansas, and playing multiple games of pickleball a day. He was also a frequent library visitor, avid sports fan, a talented bridge player, and was even convinced to go to a few dances with his friends. He maintained relationships with his childhood friends and kept adding to his network of friends throughout his life. He also greatly enjoyed taking road trips to Minnesota to see his children and grandchildren. And how he loved his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Maxine Siemers, and his grandson, Wyatt Joseph Goiffon.

Jeff is survived by his son, Dustin Siemers; his daughter, Jackie (Bennett) Goiffon; grandsons, Landon Bennett and Sullivan Jeffrey Goiffon; his sisters, Judie (Dean) Koppleman, Nancy (Jim) Rice; many nieces and nephews; and many of his beloved friends.
