John "Jay" Adams Jr of Bella Vista passed away peacefully on November 4th, 2021.    He was born on November 23, 1939 to John E and Carrie L.  (Goovers) Adams.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps before marrying the love of his life, Elizabeth Joyce Miller, in 1964.  They had two children, Lynn Marie and Jay Michael.  Jay retired from The 3M Company after 40 years.   He and Joyce  then retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas where they enjoyed golfing, camping, and their many wonderful friends.

Jay was a life member of the Marine Corps League, Datachment 854, as well as a member of American Legion Post 341.  He proudly served the Marine Corps League first as Senior Vice Commandant in 2013 then as the detachments Commandant in 2014 and 2015.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce in 2013.  He is survived by his daughter Lynn Irwin (Brian), son Jay Adams (Amanda) and grandsons Garrett Irwin, Shane Irwin, Tyler Adams, Ryan Adams and Cameron Adams.  He is also survived by his brothers James Adams, Chuck Adams, sister Judy Figurski and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 14 from 3p to 5p at Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista, AR.

A brief memorial service will be held Monday, Nov 15th at 10am at the Bella Vista Funeral Home followed by the burial service at 1:30p at Fayetteville National Cemetery, 1000 S Lt Col Leroy Pond Ave, Fayetteville, AR.
