Obituary

Johnny William Easley, 86, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, surrounded by the family who loved him deeply. Johnny's life was shaped by hard work, generosity, humor, and adventure.

Born on September 10, 1939, in Hiwasse, Arkansas, Johnny grew up with his parents, Chester and Meda (Pruitt) Easley, and three brothers: Charles, Vincent (Bud), and Jerry. Johnny attended high school before traveling to Washington state to pick apples for his uncle, Otis Pruitt.

He was drafted into the Army on March 25, 1960, and served in the Artillery at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Fort Sill in Lawton, OK; and Fort Lewis in Washington. After two years of service, he was honorably discharged on April 25, 1962. Shortly after he traveled to Alaska to work as a longshoreman. After returning home, he started work at Daisy Manufacturing and then Union Carbide where he worked for more than 20 years.

On July 29, 1972, Johnny married Carol Sue Rodgers and they shared nearly 50 years of marriage.

Johnny enjoyed fishing, hunting, browsing garage sales for hidden treasures, and tending to his garden. He loved being on the road and looked back fondly on his time after the Army, especially his time in Alaska. Those who knew him remember his easy smile, his kindness, and the way he was always first to show up when someone needed help. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, wife, Carol, and grandson, Jason.

He leaves behind his daughters, Kelli Parum of Gravette, AR, and Tammy Easley and her husband, Micah Laney, of Centerton, AR; four grandchildren, Abe Roman, Jon Roman, Emma Roman, and Sarah Easley; and one great-grandchild, Renley Roman.
