Judith Lynn (Johansen) Whitmore, age 78, passed away peacefully at home in Bella Vista, Arkansas on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Born on August 22, 1946, in Pasadena, California, Judy lived a life full of love, curiosity, and connection. She graduated from Monrovia High School and in 1971 married the love of her life, Terry Whitmore. Together they embarked on a bold journey, moving from California to North Dakota, which was a move that marked the beginning of their 54 years of devoted marriage.

Judy lived in several places throughout her life, including Fargo and Minot, North Dakota; Excelsior, Minnesota; and Bella Vista, Arkansas. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend.

She had a deep love for animals, a passion for genealogy, and a remarkable gift for solving problems. Judy was known for her warm heart and her ability to stay connected with friends and family across the miles and years. She loved gardening and enjoyed overseas trips with friends. Her kindness and curiosity touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Terry; her daughters, Farrah (Brandon) and Cassidy (Dan); and her son, Jeff (Kristina). Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Details about a memorial service will be shared with family and friends at a later date.

In honor of Judy's love for animals, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in lieu of flowers.
