June B. Habicht, 83, of Martinsville, Maine and Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away peacefully April 20, 2026, after two weeks on hospice at the home of her eldest daughter in Bella Vista, AR. She was born in January of 1943 in Milton, MA to Anna Austin Bailey and Christopher T. Bailey.

June graduated high school from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. She began her college studies at Plymouth Teacher College in 1960 and received a BS in Education from Nova Southeastern University in 1977 after 6 states, 7 institutions, and 17 years.

She met and married her only love, Michael Habicht at The Brick House in Windham, NH in 1964 and became a widow in 1997.

Residing 43 years in Hollywood, FL, she worked as a substitute teacher for 30+ years in Broward County schools. She also worked at Winn Dixie and Publix grocery stores where her students would recognize her, and she would tell them, "Of course I remember you".

She was a beloved member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Hollywood, FL and lived the last 6 years of her life in Bella Vista, AR.

She was predeceased by her father, Christopher T. Bailey (1959); her identical twin, Jane Bailey (1960); her mother, Anna Austin Bailey (1978); "brothers", Frank Austin (1965) and Peter Austin (2021); nephew, Christopher Austin (2016); and "honorary son", Steve McCartney (2022).

June is survived by three daughters: Heather H. and Dr. Jeffrey Grills of Martinsville, ME and Bella Vista, AR; Heidi Jane and Richie Marra of Wilmington, DE; and Holly and Dr. Terry Shikano of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren: Dr. Christopher Grills of Ayer, MA; Fox Margo Littlefield of Eugene, OR; Michael Habicht Mihalow of Philadelphia, PA; sisters-in-law, Mary Habicht and Peggy Habicht of Miami, FL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George C. Habicht, III and Anna of El Paso, TX; sister-in-law, Sandy Austin of Cape Coral, FL; and "daughter-in-law", Becky Phillips of Cooper City, FL.

No local memorial service will be held in Bella Vista. A memorial service and spreading of ashes at sea will be held in Wells, Maine at a later date.

June loved basking in the sun, watching tennis, and reading nonfiction. She always had a biography with her.
