Pastor Karen Lynn Fowler-Lindemulder died at home among family and friends early Saturday morning, April 6, 2024. She was born in Chicago, IL, in 1962, and moved to California with her family in the 6th grade. There, she eventually attended the University of California, Irvine, where she graduated with a degree in psychology. It was also where she met her future husband, Jeremy.

From there, she attended Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA, graduating with her Master of Divinity degree directly into the newly formed Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

She served faithfully for many years as pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Shawnee, OK. Although it took longer than expected, she was determined to see them through their dream of building a new church building complex as well as moving their ministry further out into the community. When she felt that her work there was finally complete and sustainable by that congregation without her presence, she left to pastor United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista, AR, where she served faithfully for eight years until her unexpected death.

During her tenure in the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod, she served as a member and the chair of the pastoral candidacy committee for many years, helping shape and direct the education and spiritual discernment of potential rostered leadership from that area. Shaping ministry was her passion, her way to personally affect and help ensure that the gospel message of Christ's love continues.

She is survived by her husband, Jeremy; his brother's family; her mother, Sue; her brother, Craig, his wife, Charlene, and their children, Becka, Blake, and Brody; and her aunt, Cathy Richter, and her family, along with many cousins. She is both survived and preceded in death by too many of her beloved chosen church family to name here.

In lieu of flowers, her family has asked that pledges and donations be made through the AOK Synod, 4803 S Lewis Ave, Tulsa, ok 74105 in Karen's honor as a memorial to help establish a scholarship fund for future seminarians in her name. Above all, she would wish to provide an avenue to help continue the church's ministries into the future.
