Keith Carson Roberts, age 93, passed away peacefully and entered his heavenly home on Saturday, November 4, 2023.  He was cared for as a resident of Innisfree Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rogers, Arkansas over the past year.

Though born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 23, 1930, he grew up in Wisconsin and Illinois.  At the age of 18, Keith joined the United States Marine Corps where he specialized in infantry weapons.  Advancing to the rank of staff sergeant in 1952, he served two years aboard ship in San Diego.  Following that, he served in Korea and Quantico, Virginia where he became an infantry weapons instructor.

While in the Marines, Keith's interests in geology were sparked as he read books on this science.  He enrolled at the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a geology major.  During grad school, he accepted a position with Cleveland Cliffs Iron Mining Company.  Later he worked at Medusa Corporation as chief geologist and director of mineral resources for the United States, Canada, and Spain.

Keith met his wife, Greta "Gigi" Roberts, at the University of Wisconsin.  They were married 59 years and resided in Bella Vista, Arkansas from 2003 until her death in 2013.  They enjoyed sailing and golfing together and had an endearing love for dogs.  After her death, Keith moved to Concordia Retirement Community in Bella Vista, Arkansas.

In 2016, Keith met Ellie Forsythe at Concordia where they were both residents enjoying life in their eighties.  There was an immediate "spark" and over the past seven years they have enjoyed life's adventures as a couple.  There have been countless Concordia friendships and memories made over the years.  Some of Keith and Ellie's favorite activities included playing cards, BINGO, sitting out on their patio, exploring northwest Arkansas, and just having a companion to talk to and enjoy life with.   Keith did not have any children of his own.  With Ellies' four children, their spouses and six grandchildren spread out in Arkansas, California, Illinois, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin he acquired an immediate family or as he would call them, "The Tribe."  Ellie and her family adored and loved Keith.  He was a wonderful man worthy of admiration, a loving partner to Ellie and a beautiful addition to their family.

The past year of Ellie's weekly visits to see her beloved at Innisfree continued to kindle the spark of love they had as a couple.  Their time together has been priceless.  Not a visit would go by where Keith didn't end their interaction with his farewell, "love you the most, always and forever."  Keith, you will always hold a special place in our hearts and be loved "always and forever."

Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Greta (Grabinsky); parents, Keith and Elizabeth (Gordon); and two brothers, Warren and Gordon.

A celebration-of-life will be held in Michigan with Elllie's family.

Memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter, the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, Madison, Wisconsin or charity of donor's choice.
