Kenneth Eugene
Bethe
Aug 16, 1944 — Feb 15, 2023
Bella Vista
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved Alaskan pilot, Air Force veteran, and dedicated Texas A&M fan. Kenneth Eugene Bethe passed away on February 15, 2023, at the age of 78.
Kenneth Eugene Bethe Jr., known to most as Ken, was a fixture in the Alaskan aviation community, having spent decades flying small planes across the rugged terrain of the Last Frontier after leaving the Air Force in 1978.
He was born in Abilene, Kansas on August 16, 1944, and grew up with a passion for flying, which eventually led him to seek adventure in Alaska. Despite the many challenges of flying in Alaska, Ken was renowned for his skill, courage, and dedication to his work. He was always ready to brave difficult weather conditions and rough terrain to deliver hunters, fishermen, and outdoor adventurers to remote destinations. But Ken was more than just a great pilot. He was also a proud member of the Texas A&M family, having graduated from the university with a degree in business in 1966. A remarkable storyteller, he could capture a room with tales from a lifetime of adventure.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy; his son, Ken; his daughter, Amber; his brother, Mike; and his grandson, Spencer. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, as well as by the many people whose lives he touched during his time as a pilot.
Rest in peace, Ken. Your legacy as a skilled and fearless pilot, talented storyteller, and devoted Aggie will always be remembered.
