Obituary

Leroy Curtis Loyd, our Papaw and Father, was called home on October 1 st , 2022, at his home at the Gardens at Osage Terrace after a brief illness.

Curt was born on October 6 th , 1946, in Burlington, Colorado to the late Theodore "Ted" and Jeraldine "Jeri" Loyd.  Curt was the eldest of two boys and was raised in Fairview, Kansas.  Curt met and married his bride, Mary Ann (Gannon) Loyd, April 2, 1966, in Hiawatha, Kansas.  Mary preceded him in death, June 5, 2012.  Curt and Mary were blessed with four children, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

After many years living in Kansas, Curt and his family relocated to Northwest Arkansas in 1981 where he managed the Phillips/Food for Less stores in Bentonville for several years before becoming Executive Director of the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce for over 10 years.  Curt retired in 2020 after working for Lowes for 10 years.  He never met a stranger and everyone that knew him loved him.

Curt was also preceded in death by his daughters, Rebecca and Rachel, and is survived by his eldest daughter, Tawny Daggett (Chandler) and son, Jason Loyd (Tammie); nine grandchildren, Danielle, Holly, Lisa, Lindsay, Jayson, Hayden, Lexie, Kaitlyn and Tiernan; and five great-grandchildren, EJ, Charlotte, Rhett, Tommy and Louisa.

He is also survived by his brother James "Jim" Loyd (Leesa) of Rogers, AR.

A family gathering and Celebration of Curt's life will be held at a later date.
