Loraine Marie
Lawrence
Feb 22, 1939 — Mar 24, 2022
Gentry
Loraine Marie Lawrence, 83, of Gentry, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in Rogers, Arkansas on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Loraine was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 22, 1939, to Thomas and Anna Bryant.
After attending school in the St. Louis area, Loraine went on to attend Northwest Bible College in Minot, North Dakota where she met her husband, Vernon Lawrence. They were married on April 28, 1956 and she began her full time job as wife and mother, supporting him in his military career and then many more years in the ministry. They were married for 62 years, until his passing in 2019.
After raising her children, Loraine decided to further her own education by earning her Associate's Degree from Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma. She was always involved in church activities such as Bible studies, teaching Sunday School, teaching pre-school, working with youth, and participating in women's groups activities. She had a special love for music and singing, often singing duets with her husband, singing in the choir at church, or with the praise band. We are sure that Heaven has added one more member to the choir! After living many years in Vian, Oklahoma, she moved to northwest, Arkansas to be closer to her children. Her final years were spent in assisted living where she enjoyed Bingo, crafts, and the Sunday morning church services.
Loraine was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Lawrence; two sisters, Lucille Valora and Irma Morello; two brothers, Fred Bryant and Harry Bryant and her parents, Thomas and Anna Bryant.
Loraine is survived by her five children; Renee Lawrence (Kenny Worley), Sheryl (Larry Johnson), Marcus (Sandra) Lawrence, Roger (Sabrina) Lawrence, Nathan (Sandy) Lawrence; 15 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on Friday, April 1 from 9:30-10:30 AM, with the funeral service at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dennis, Kansas at 3:00 PM on April 1.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Primrose Assisted Living, Brookstone Assisted Living, and Jamestown Nursing and Rehab for their care in her final years.
