Louis Jude Hoerner, age 91, was called home to God on March 17, 2026, at Apple Creek Health & Rehab. He was born February 18, 1935, in St. Louis County to Louis Hoerner and Virginia M. Belloli.  Louis graduated from Bayless High School in 1954. He played on the varsity baseball and basketball teams.

He served in the Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957 as an Infantry Rifleman, 8th & I Unit, 8 Man and 12 Man Drill Teams in Washington, DC.  Louis worked as a furniture salesman, St. Louis County Police Officer, Teamster truck driver, dockworker and ironworker.

Louis was an avid golfer and played many tournaments in St. Louis and Southeast Missouri.  On February 5, 1972 he married the love of his life, Geraldine Kathleen Abmeyer, who joined him on the golf course.

Louis retired as a ready-mix driver after 25 years of service.  Golf brought them to Bella Vista, Arkansas, in 1994 where they played in many tournaments and golf groups with 7 Holes in One to his credit and a Double Eagle in a POA Mixer Tournament.  He also played in Canada, Spain, Bermuda, Acapulco and Hawaii.  They played several years at a Thanksgiving tournament in Myrtle Beach and on the Robert Trent Jones Trail.

He could be considered a little grumpy at times by some and he spoke his mind.  He was a strong man and had a loving and giving heart.  Louis was always  willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and that endeared him to so many people in his life.  He loved the serenity and beauty of his Bella Vista home.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Hoerner and Virginia M. Belloli; two brothers, Nelson Louis Hoerner and Edward Charles Hoerner; and one sister Mary Ann Cole.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Geraldine Kathleen Hoerner; one sister Judith Virginia Luebbers; two daughters Robin Rene Barlow (Kevin) and Sandra Ann Hoerner; two granddaughters, Monica Louise Jones and Shannon Elizabeth Mara (Casey); six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who loved and cared for him at Apple Creek Health and Rehab.  Celebrations of life will be held at a later date in Bella Vista, Arkansas, and in St. Louis, Missouri.
