Loyd Wayne McKenzie, 60, of Gravette, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Born on March 22, 1964, Loyd was a loving husband, father, and friend who devoted his life to his family, faith, and community.
For 28 years, Loyd worked with Simmons, raising chickens and setting several company records. He was also a dedicated cattle farmer, where his strong values and hard work were evident in everything he did. Whether in his career or in the relationships he built, Loyd's commitment and dedication shined through. A faithful member of Berean Ministries, he served as a Gideon and was actively involved in his church. Loyd's generosity, warmth, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone around him.
Loyd is survived by his wife of 29 years, Gayla, and their two daughters, Elizabeth and Maggie, both of Gravette. He was a man who worked hard but always made time for his loved ones.
Loyd's love for his family extended beyond his immediate household. He also leaves behind his siblings, Anita Poindexter (Jim), Mark McGinnis (Sigrid), and Crystal McGinnis Grimes. Loyd is remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including Aunt Evelyn Lynch (Ralph), Uncle Richard Smith (Angie), Virgil McGee, Shelby Prim, Derrick Lynch (Julie), Heather Head (Heath), niece Ashley (Shannon) Hadley and children Judd and Savannah, and nephews John Ryan Holloway and Julian McGinnis. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith will be cherished by all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, love, and service to others will continue to live on through his family and the many lives he touched in his community.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Berean Ministries in Gravette, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery immediately following the service.
