M. Malcolm Winters of Centerton, AR passed from this life and entered his eternal one on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO from injuries he sustained on Thursday, September 19, 2024. He was born October 25, 1946, in Harrisburg, AR to the late Myles E. Winters and the late Juanita Parker Winters.

Malcolm spent his early years in Harrisburg farming soybeans, cotton and rice on the family farm.  He was a state officer for his high school FFA chapter.  Based on his academic ability, he was awarded a scholarship which he used to attend the University of Arkansas where he earned a degree in agricultural business.  He met Linda Kay Keen while in Fayetteville and married her on July 12, 1969.  During college, Malcolm was a member of ROTC, receiving a 2nd Lieutenant commission in the army upon graduation.  In March 1970, he was sent to Vietnam for a year's tour of duty, where he was awarded a Bronze Star. Upon discharge, he attended the OSU School of Banking and SMSU Lenders School, graduating with a masters of banking in 1982.  Over the next 50+ years, Malcolm's banking career took him and his family from Arkansas, to New Mexico, back to Arkansas and ending in Missouri.

Malcolm's interests and passions were always in fields of service:  to his community, to his church and to his family.  He was very active in Rotary Club, the Searcy County Rural Water Association, the Morning Star Volunteer Fire Department, Los Lunas NM Optimists Club, the NWA Two-Ton Water Association Board, Kiwanis of Gravette, Benton County Junior Livestock Sale, Benton County 4-H Pullet Sale, Benton County Fair Board, Cattlemen's Association of Benton County and the Gravette Public Schools Scholarship Foundation. Throughout Malcolm's life, he was a devout Christian and active member of his church.  For the last 33 years, he has attended and actively served in various areas at the Bella Vista Church of Christ.

Malcolm enjoyed life in so many ways:  from cooking for the deer camp crew, reading western novels, competing in finishing the weekly crossword puzzle with Linda, watching kids (especially his grandkids) do anything, taking care of his laying hens and his bees, playing the harmonica and "pickin' & grinnin'" with the Keen Boys. He was the anchor of our family and our rock.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Keen Winters; his children: Shannon Winters Hubanks (Keith), Casey Mac Winters, and Dr. Mia Winters Meenen (Kevin); his grandchildren: Dallas Hubanks (Jenny), Kaden Meenen and Jesslyn Meenen; his great-grandchildren: Quill Hubanks and Ezra Hubanks; his sister: Nancy Winters Clark (Zeryl); and countless dear extended family members and friends.

Funeral services for Malcolm are as follows:  visitation, 5:00-8:00pm, Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory; funeral service, 1:00pm, Tuesday October 8, 2024, at the Bella Vista Church of Christ, with graveside service to immediately follow at Hester Cemetery in Fayetteville AR.
